Jefferson A. Russell

Jefferson A. Russell most recently appeared at the Goodman in The Trinity River Plays during the 2010/2011 Season. Regional credits include The Piano Lesson (Avery) at the Hangar Theatre; Clybourne Park (Kevin/Albert) at Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company; The Soul Collector (Cedric), Gem of the Ocean (Citizen Barlow) and Blues for an Alabama Sky (Leland) at Everyman Theatre; Cyrano de Bergerac (d’Artagnan), Tamburlaine (King of Morocco) and Edward II (Levune) at the Shakespeare Theatre Company; The Tempest (Sebastian) at Folger Theatre; A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Egeus/Snout) at The North Carolina Shakespeare Festival; One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (Scanlon) at Round House Theatre; and Blood Knot (Zachariah), A Raisin in the Sun (Walter Lee Younger) and A Lesson Before Dying (Grant Wiggins) at African Continuum Theatre. Mr. Russell’s television credits include HBO’s The Wire and NBC’s Homicide: Life on the Street. He holds a BA in sociology and criminal justice from Hampton University and is a former Baltimore police officer.
