Seth Bockley

Seth Bockley co-adapted and co-directed 2666 for the Goodman, where he also premiered his play Ask Aunt Susan in 2014. Other plays include Rip van Winkle; or, Cut The Old Moon Into Stars, the first commission by Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival; adaptations of George Saunders’ short stories CommComm (commissioned by the Goodman and further developed by New York’s Page 73 Productions) and Jon, which won an Jeff Award for Best New Adaptation; Wilderness with New York’s En Garde Arts;The Death And Life Of Billy The Kid with Cabinet of Curiosity Events; Laika’s Coffin and The Elephant & The Whale with Redmoon; The Twins Would Like To Say; Journey For The Sun and February House, a collaboration with lyricist and composer Gabriel Kahane, which premiered at The Public Theater. Directing credits include Basetrack and Wilderness with En Garde Arts; Lauren Yee’s Samsara and Philip Dawkins’ Failure: A Love Story at Victory Gardens Theater; Jason Grote’s Civilization (all you can eat) for Clubbed Thumb’s Summer Works Festival; Jon and Jason Grote’s 1001 for Collaboraction; numerous Redmoon events and spectacles and the clown play Guerra, developed with Devon de Mayo and Mexico City-based troupe La Piara.
