Barbara Garrick

Barbara Garrick most recently appeared at the Goodman in Mary during the 2010/2011 Season. She last appeared in Chicago in the 2001 pre-Broadway production of A Thousand Clowns with Tom Selleck. New York credits include A Thousand Clowns, Eastern Standard, A Small Family Business and Stanley on Broadway, and off-Broadway productions of The Winter’s Tale (Hermione) at Classic Stage Company; Eight Days (Backwards) at Vineyard Theatre; Beauty on the Vine with Epic Theatre Ensemble at the Clurman Theatre; Eastern Standard at Manhattan Theatre Club; and Baby Anger at Playwrights Horizons. Regional credits include The Way of the World by William Congreve at the Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington, DC; Ridiculous Fraud by Beth Henley at McCarter Theatre Center; Safe as Houses by Richard Greenberg at McCarter Theatre Center; and My Good Name (workshop) by Arthur Laurents at Seattle Repertory Theatre. Ms. Garrick’s film credits include Sleepless in Seattle, The Firm, Miami Rhapsody, Far from Heaven, Jumper, Pollock, The Ice Storm, Postcards from the Edge, Working Girl, Eight Men Out, and most recently Tennessee Williams’ The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond. On television, Ms. Garrick originated the role of DeDe Halcyon Day in Armistead Maupin’s Tales of the City trilogy (Gemini Award nomination) and that of Allison Perkins on One Life to Live, and has appeared in Sex and the City, episodes of the Law & Order franchise, and Hallmark Hall of Fame’s Ellen Foster with Julie Harris, among other projects. Ms. Garrick is an accomplished acting teacher and private coach.
