EDUCATION & ENGAGEMENT PROGRAMS
The Goodman is nationally recognized as a leader in arts education, serving thousands of students and lifelong learners completely free of charge.
Our education and engagement programs spark creativity, provide and outlet for self-expression, and teach essential life skills in underserved communities throughout the Chicagoland area.
Through programs like the School Matinee Series, we’re able to provide arts education curricula to CPS teachers and students who may not otherwise be able to attend productions and learn about theatre. GeNarrations provides community and connection for lifelong learners aged 55+ through learning how to tell their own stories through the lens of productions on stage at the Goodman. Summer Youth Programs not only allow teenagers to practice theatre, but also gain transferable skills such as interpersonal skills and time management to use in their daily lives. These types of programs to foster community and connection are a vital part of our mission to be an important contributor to a high-quality of life in our city.
Looking to the workforce, Goodman is committed to professional and workforce development for the next generation of theatre artists, artisans, technicians and administrators. Through internships and apprenticeships in production, artistic, and administrative departments, early career professionals learn on the job in a theatrical environment that teaches valuable, transferrable skills like project management, teamwork, and communication to help them succeed in whatever career path they choose.
Benefits of these sponsorships include logo recognition, prestigious association with Chicago’s premier theatre, exclusive access to Goodman artists, and complimentary tickets.
