Artist Bio
Arlene Malinowski
(Bio as of February 2003)
Arlene Malinowski most recently appeared at the Goodman in By the Music of the Spheres during the 2002/2003 Season. Theater credits include the national touring show A Slice of Rice, Frijoles and Greens which received the White House Award of the Initiative on Race. As a solo artist she has performed her autobiographical solo shows, What Does the Sun Sound Like, The Bully, and Or Forever Hold Your Peace, in theatrical venues and universities across the country, including the St. Louis Center for Contemporary Art and HBO Workspace. This work has garnered a Garland Award, LA Weekly Award and a nomination for an LA Theatre Ovation Award. Favorite Los Angeles theater credits include Lovers and Other Strangers at Blue Sphere Alliance; Kafka’s The Trial with Company of Angels; Chapter Two at Long Beach Playhouse; Labor Pains at Victory Theatre (Garland Award Nominee); One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest with Deaf West Theatre; and Measure for Measure at Gascone Theatre. Television credits include guest starring on CSI-Crime Scene Investigation, The Practice, ER, The Division, Any Day Now, Diagnosis Murder, Fit Spa and Resort and The X Files.
