Artist Bio
Brian Sgambati
(Bio as of September 2007)
Brian Sgambati most recently appeared at the Goodman in Passion Play: a cycle in three parts during the 2007/2008 Season. Other credits include Tom Stoppard’s The Coast of Utopia trilogy at Lincoln Center (directed by Jack O’Brien), where he was also a member of the company of King Lear starring Christopher Plummer. Off-Broadway credits include Landscape of the Body with Signature Theatre Company, directed by Michael Greif, and The World Over at Playwright’s Horizons. Regionally he has been seen in The Two Noble Kinsmen and Antony and Cleopatra (Old Globe, both directed by Darko Tresnjak); The Blue Demon (Huntington Theatre Company); The Comedy of Errors (Portland Stage Company); Oliver! (Olney Theatre Center); and Sweet Bird of Youth (La Jolla Playhouse, directed by Michael Greif), among others. New York credits also include The Hasty Heart for Keen Company and Jordan Harrison’s Amazons and their Men with Clubbed Thumb. As an Associate Artist of The Civilians he has created roles in Gone Missing; Canard, Canard, Goose?; and Paris Commune. He holds an M.F.A. from the University of California, San Diego.
