Artist Bio
Carolyn Defrin
(Bio as of September 2006)
Carolyn Defrin most recently appeared at the Goodman in King Lear during the 2006/2007 Season. She performs regularly with The House Theatre of Chicago where she is a founding company member. Recent credits with The House include Ellen Under Glass (co-produced with The Storefront Theater), Valentine Victorious (Jeff nomination for supporting actress), The Great and Terrible Wizard of Oz, Curse of the Crying Heart, San Valentino and the Melancholy Kid and The Terrible Tragedy of Peter Pan. Other Chicago credits include They All Fall Down: The Richard Nickel Story with Lookingglass Theatre and numerous spectacle performances with Redmoon Theater. Ms. Defrin is also a choreographer, having created dance pieces for The House, Redmoon Theater, Strawdog Theatre and Remy Bumppo. Outside of Chicago, Ms. Defrin has worked as a performer and choreographer at St. Ann’s Warehouse in New York for its annual Puppet Lab.
