Artist Bio
Cynthia Jackson
(Bio as of April 2001)
Cynthia Jackson most recently appeared at the Goodman in The Amen Corner during the 2000/2001 Season. She was last seen in Pegasus Theatre’s Ev’ry Time I Feel the Spirit. Other credits include Christine in Chicago Theatre Company’s production of Journal of Ordinary Thought and Onyx Theatre’s production of 4 Queens No Trump in the role of Deola, for which she won a Joseph Jefferson Citation as best supporting actress. Ms. Jackson received a Jeff Citation (best actress) for the role of Dawn in Stage Left’s production of Three Ways Home; a Black Theatre Alliance Award (best actress/musical) for her performance as Eva D in Get Ready at ETA Theatre; and a Jeff nomination as Ma Rainey in The Thomas Dorsey Story at the Black Ensemble Theatre. She has also done commercial voiceover and print work.
