James Rank

James Rank most recently appeared at the Goodman in Turn of the Century during the 2008/2009 Season. Chicago credits include: Grand Hotel (as The Baron) at Drury Lane Theatre Water Tower Place for which he was nominated for a Jeff Award; A Little Night Music (as Mr. Lindquist) and Passion (as Lt. Torasso) at Chicago Shakespeare Theater; The American Dreams Songbook (as Sam) at Next Theatre Company for which he received a Jeff Award Nomination; Carousel (as Billy Bigelow) and Phantom (as The Phantom) at the The Candlelight Dinner Theatre; South Pacific (as Joe Cable) and It’s a Bird, It’s a Plane, It’s Superman (as Superman) at Drury Lane Theatre in Oakbrook; and Candide (as Voltaire/Pangloss), The Fantasticks (as El Gallo) and 110 in the Shade (as File) with Light Opera Works. On the operatic stage he has appeared with Lyric Opera of Chicago, Chicago Opera Theater, Chamber Opera Chicago, L’Opera Piccola, and regionally with Santa Fe Opera, Central City Opera and Pamiro Opera. Mr. Rank has performed in concerts with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, The Ravinia Festival, The Chicago Sinfonietta and with various ensembles from Northwestern University, where he received his MM.
