Artist Bio
Janice Paran

Janice Paran most recently collaborated with the Goodman on The Trinity River Plays during the 2010/2011 Season. Ms. Paran is a New Jersey-based dramaturg and an artistic associate of the Sundance Institute Theatre Program. Formerly the director of play development at McCarter Theatre Center in Princeton, NJ, she has worked closely with numerous writers and artists, including The Civilians, Annie Baker, Nilo Cruz, Christopher Durang, Steven Dietz, Beth Henley, Emily Mann, Dael Orlandersmith, Polly Pen, Stephen Wadsworth, Tracey Scott Wilson and Doug Wright in the development of new work for the theater. Current projects include Anne Washburn’s The Devil at Noon (2011 Humana Festival of New American Plays) and You Better Sit Down: Tales from My Parents’ Divorce (cowriter). She teaches in Princeton University’s Program in Theater, and holds MFA degrees from Catholic University and the Yale School of Drama.
