Artist Bio
Jean Isaacs
(Bio as of November 2001)
Jean Isaacs most recently collaborated with the Goodman on Big Love during the 2001/2002 Season. She includes among her regional credits A Midsummer Night’s Dream for the Globe Theatre, Blood Wedding and Nora for La Jolla Playhouse, Phenomenal Acceleration at Sledgehammer Theatre, Big Love for Humana Festival 2000 and more credits at Berkeley Rep and Long Wharf Theatre. Ms. Isaacs has served as artistic director of San Diego Dance Theatre (1997-present); Isaacs/McCaleb and Dancers (1992-1997); and Three’s Company and Dancers (1974-1992). Ms. Isaacs currently teaches in the department of theater and dance at the University of California, San Diego. She is the recipient of two California Arts Council Choreography Fellowships, a GLADD Award, two Tommy Awards, the UCSD Distinguished Teaching Award for 2001, the California Dance Educators Association Award for 1999 and a nomination for the National Choreography Award. Ms. Isaacs graduated with honors from Wheaton College with a degree in literature.
