Artist Bio
Kenneth Lee Roberson
(Bio as of September 2005)
Kenneth Lee Roberson most recently collaborated with the Goodman in Purlie during the 2005/2006 Season. Broadway credits include the 2004 Tony Award-winning best musical Avenue Q, All Shook Up and Jelly’s Last Jam (assistant choreographer). New York credits include Purlie for the Encores! series, Harlem Song, John Leguizamo’s Freak, Stupid Kids, The Mineola Twins and Blade to the Heat. Regional credits include Ain’t Misbehavin’, Smokey Joe’s Cafe, Spunk and Guys and Dolls. Film and television credits include George C. Wolfe’s Lackawanna Blues on HBO, On the One (directed by Charles Randolph Wright), and John Leguizamo’s House of Buggin’ (Emmy Award nomination). Mr. Roberson’s awards include a NAACP, a Drama Desk nomination, a Lucille Lortel nomination, an AUDELCO Award, a NYSCA and an Our Time Theater Award. A writer and performer, Mr. Roberson’s critically acclaimed one man show I Think, Therefore, I Is has generated a cult following in New York City.
