Linda Kimbrough has appeared in 12 productions at the Goodman, most recently as The Woman in The Play About the Baby as part of the Edward Albee Festival. Favorite local credits include Mrs. Siezmagraff in Betty’s Summer Vacation (After Dark Award), Miss Preen in The Man Who Came to Dinner at Steppenwolf Theatre Company and the Barbican in London, the title character in Miss Witherspoon at Next Theatre Company, Nora in Better Late at both Northlight Theatre and as part of Galway Arts Festival in Ireland, and Madame Sganarelle, opposite Brian Bedford, in Chicago Shakespeare Theater’s production of The Moliére Comedies. In 1982 she appeared in the world premiere of David Mamet’s Edmond, which subsequently traveled to the Provincetown Playhouse in New York City. Regional credits include Dotty in Noises Off at Cleveland Play House and Maltz Jupiter Theatre, Lady Catherine de Bourgh in Pride and Prejudice, Mrs. Lintott in The History Boys, Helen Sutherland in The Pitmen Painters at Pittsburgh Irish and Classical Theatre, Julia in The Fourth Wall at the Alliance Theatre and Mary in The Gospel According to James at the Indiana Repertory Theatre. Ms. Kimbrough has been a volunteer at CRIS Radio for over 25 years, reading newspapers to the visually and neurologically handicapped.
