Artist Bio
Mark Jacoby
(Bio as of September 2001)
Mark Jacoby most recently appeared at the Goodman in The Visit during the 2001/2002 Season. Previous Chicago appearances include the Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera and Gaylord Ravenal in Show Boat (Jeff Award nomination), both directed by Harold Prince, and Guido Contini in Nine (Jeff Award) at Candlelight Theatre. On Broadway Mark was Father in Ragtime, directed by Frank Galati; Gaylord Ravenal in Show Boat (Tony and Outer Critic’s Award nominations); the Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera; Baron von Gaigern in Grand Hotel; and Vitorio Vidal in Sweet Charity (Theatre World Award). Mr. Jacoby received a 2001 Drama Desk Award nomination for his performance as the Playwright in Enter the Guardsman. Other credits include John Jasper in the national tour of The Mystery of Edwin Drood and Oscar Jaffe in the Goodspeed Opera House production of On the Twentieth Century (Connecticut Drama Critics Award).
