Artist Bio
Megan Coffel
(Bio as of May 2022)
Megan J Coffel (they/them) is proud to be the lighting and technical director for Where We Belong and looks forward to traveling with the team to share the story with people across the country. They are a graduate of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with an MFA in Lighting, Design and Technology. At UIUC, they enjoyed being a head electrician (The Marriage of Figaro; Cabaret and Crazy for You), designing lights (Fun Home; Hit the Wall and Adventures of Little Sharpears) and exploring many classes in the scenic technology department. They have worked previously at Utah Festival Opera and Theatre Company, the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center and Strayer-Wood Theatre. Outside of theater, they enjoy freehand drawing, playing Dungeons and Dragons with friends and watching Star Trek (Deep Space Nine is their favorite series thus far).
