Artist Bio
Monté Russell
(Bio as of December 2000)
Monté Russell most recently appeared at the Goodman in King Hedley II during the 2000/2001 Season. He has appeared in a number of August Wilson plays, including Fences, Joe Turner’s Come and Gone, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, Two Trains Running and the original production of Jitney. Broadway, off-Broadway and Los Angeles theater credits include Prelude to a Kiss, A Few Good Men, East Texas Hot Links (directed by Marion McClinton), I Am a Man, Three Ways Home, Private Battle, The Letter and The Glass Menagerie. Film and television credits include The Player’s Club, Alien Nation, Laurel Avenue, Lily in Winter, ER (six seasons as Paramedic Zadro), The Adversaries and many others. He recently directed the short film Ballad of a Thin Man, and is in pre-production for a digital video feature, Shea’s Moods.
