Artist Bio
Sarah Underwood
(Bio as of November 2001)
Sarah Underwood most recently appeared at the Goodman in A Christmas Carol during the 2001/2002 Season. Other Goodman credits include Cry, The Beloved Country and The Good Person of Setzuan on the Mainstage. Ms. Underwood played the role of Harper in the national touring company of Angels in America. She has been seen as Gloria in Grace and Glory at the Apple Tree Theatre and Louise in Always…Patsy Cline at the Apollo and Northlight Theatres, for which she received a Joseph Jefferson nomination. Chicago credits include Danny Bouncing and Rain, River, Ice, Steam at Victory Gardens Theater. At Peninsula Players, Ms. Underwood has appeared as Jane in It Runs in the Family, Jean in Tons of Money, Clarissa in Spider’s Web and Miss Sadie Thompson in Rain. As a saxophonist and monologist Ms. Underwood has performed in various venues, including New Variety Cabaret, as a guest artist for the Green Mill Poetry Slam (for which she received mention in Smithsonian Magazine), Green Dolphin Street and the Los Angeles Women’s Theatre Festival and Los Angeles Arts Commission Open House. Television credits include ABC’s Missing Persons and CBS’s Early Edition.
