Make a Play
Saturday, September 14
Make a Play is an intergenerational workshop where kids and adults come together to create a play in just 90 minutes. We’ll start by pulling some prompts out of a hat, and then get to work! While youngsters create the story, the grownups will quickly create a series of prop and set pieces from found materials. Believe it or not, when we all come back together, we’ll have a play.
Hora de Cuentinflas features immersive Spanish songs, dramatized storytime, with a touch of disability & drag! The name Cuentinflas harkens to the Mexican Comedian Cantinflas, whom Charlie Chaplin described as “The greatest comedian in the world”. Now, Cuentinflas is here to entertain, educate, and delight children and their families! Cuentinflas champions disability justice, queerness, storytelling, and language learning through cultural competency. Together, with Cuentinflas, we will learn how to connect to our bodies, voices, and the power of imagination. In 90 minutes, we will read some stories, play some games, and sing some songs en español!
