Floyd and Clea Under the Western Sky
A world premiere and Goodman Theatre commission
Writer and performer David Cale has a long history of production at the Goodman, including such dynamic one-person shows as Lillian, The Redthroats and Smooch Music. In Floyd and Clea, Cale takes on the role of Floyd, a washed-up country singer who meets up with an aspiring young country singer named Clea in the badlands of Montana. Subsequent to the Goodman production, Floyd and Clea Under the Western Sky was produced at Connecticut’s Hartford Stage Company in 2005, and is slated for production in 2006 at New York’s Playwrights Horizons.
